PAYMENT OPTIONS
Dr. Winter is in network with Pacific Source, Pacific Source CCO, and Aetna. We are out of network with all other insurance payers. If you are paying out of pocket or using out of network insurance benefits, payment is due at the time of service. We can provide a Super Bill for you to submit to your insurance if you are seeking out of network reimbursement. Those using their in network insurance benefits will receive an invoice for any portion of the cost that is patient responsibility.
The cost of services varies widely depending on how you are paying for it. Out of pocket costs for therapy are listed below. Assessments also vary based on the nature and complexity of the assessment question. A few folks pay very little or nothing, due to their insurance benefits. Others pay all of most of the cost.
A basic assessment with one question or diagnosis, for example, will commonly be around $2000 to $2500 and take a total of 8-10 hours for interviews, testing, record review, report writing, feedback and recommendations.
More complex assessments can be $3700 and up. All patients will receive an estimate of cost prior to services and every effort will be made to minimize cost. See our “Services” page (where details about the process are provided) for ways you can reduce the cost by reducing the time the examiner must spend collecting information.
An estimate will be provided prior to service based on your insurance benefits or OOP cost.
No Surprises Act protects consumers from surprise medical bills. It went into effect January 1, 2022.
Fees
All services are billed at $250.00 per hour, in 15-minute increments. Payment is due at the time of service. Psychological services typically performed during an assessment include:
- Clinical interview
- Collateral interview (e.g., phone interview of a healthcare provider, teacher, family member, close friend, or spouse to provide)
- Record review (e.g., medical, mental health or academic records. Dr. Winter does not ask for therapy records unless there is some reason the patient wants them to be reviewed– these should remain private)
- Test administration
- Objective measures (questionnaires that you or someone close to you may fill out)
- Test scoring and interpretation
- Report writing
- Feedback, education, and recommendations
Individual therapy
- $250.00 60 minute therapy session
- $200.00 45 minute therapy session
- $125.00 30 minute therapy session
- $50.00 60 to 90 minute group therapy session
Consultation available at $250 per hour
