PAYMENT OPTIONS

Dr. Winter is in network with Pacific Source, Pacific Source CCO, First Choice and Aetna. We are out of network with all other insurance payers. If you are paying out of pocket or using out of network insurance benefits, payment is due at the time of services. We can provide a Super Bill for you to submit to your insurance if you are seeking out of network reimbursement. Those using their in network insurance benefits will receive an invoice for any patient balance once we have received payment from your insurance payer.

The cost of an assessment varies widely depending on how you are paying for it as well as the nature and complexity of the assessment. A few folks pay very little or nothing, due to their insurance benefits. Others pay all of most of the cost. A basic assessment with one question or diagnosis, for example, will commonly be around $2500 and take a total of 10 hours for interviews, testing, record review, report writing, feedback and recommendations. More complex assessments can be $3700 and up. All patients will receive an estimate of cost prior to services and every effort will be made to minimize cost. See our “Services” page for ways you can reduce the cost by reducing the time the examiner must spend collecting information.

No Surprises Act protects consumers from surprise medical bills. It went into effect January 1, 2022.

All services are billed at $250.00 per hour, in 15-minute increments. Psychological services typically performed during an assessment include:

  • Clinical interview
  • Collateral interview (e.g., phone interview of a healthcare provider, teacher, family member, close friend, or spouse to provide)

  • Test administration
  • Objective measures (questionnaires that you or someone close to you may fill out)
  • Test scoring and interpretation
  • Report writing
  • Feedback, education, and recommendations
