ELIZABETH WINTER, PH.D.

Dr. Winter is a clinical psychologist with a background in treatment, assessment, and research. She has general clinical training as well as a Forensic Specialization. She has extensive experience in diagnostic formulation and recommendations for evidence based treatment and supervision. She has worked providing these services in outpatient clinics, community mental health clinics, civil psychiatric hospitals and medical hospitals. Forensic settings include jails, pre-trial detention centers, probation offices, and forensic psychiatric hospitals. She is very passionate about mental health and therapeutic jurisprudence.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology from California State University Northridge. She completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Forensic Specialization from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She is mixed race, Latinx (she/hers) & cis-gendered. While there are many reasons a mental health professional is encouraged to limit the personal information they share with their patients, she is culturally competent in the areas of practice offered here. You are enthusiastically encouraged to ask about these practices and why boundaries around a clinician’s personal and especially diagnostic information is shared in limited circumstances for ethical reasons and the benefit of the patients served.

She offers trauma informed therapy, skills training, consultation, and diagnostic services including testing, assessment, second opinion evaluations, and diagnostic clarification. Areas of specialty include ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Anxiety Disorders, risk assessment and consultation.
She is available for training in these areas related to diagnostic clarification and treatment approach for other mental health professionals on request.
